My mom has a very bad cough & hasn’t slept in days. She does not have medical insurance so will not go to the doctor. Any suggestions?

Hot lemon drink made with lemons, previously boiled water still hot and splenda. I also have lots of tea and fluids. If she is coughing coloured phlegm then she had an infection but at least she will be getting vitamin C. She can not take phenosudafed or regular over the counter cold medication because that will elevate the blood pressure. Rest a lot and I hope she feels better! lol

Check with a pharmacist. There are many over the counter products that reduce the length of cold symptoms and the time to get over one.

Speak with any pharmacist about an over the counter med for coughs and colds. There are lots of stuff available. Follow directions and watch your blood sugar levels a bit more frequently when sick.

There is a product available at health food stores called Wellness Formula. It is an herbal that really does cut a cold short and doesn’t have the warning associated with the OTC medications. The pills really smell bad so get the capsules- about $14.
