What should someone with hypertension do if their blood pressure suddenly becomes too low?

My elderly aunt’s blood pressure has become significantly lower than before—it is now 75/66. Should we be concerned? What can be done to increase her pressure to a more healthy level?

she needs any medications she is on to be re-evaluated for sure. For immediate help, give her a liter of water and something salty to eat.

she needs to see a Dr a soon as possible, low blood pressure can be more serious than high blood pressure.

The 66 isn’t too bad but the pulse pressure (difference between the two) is awful low. Normally, it is around 40. I’m just a patient and cannot tell you how dangerous it may or may not be.
Give her water and if it does not come up quick, in around 10 minutes. Get her to a doctor. If she faints, dizzy etc.. call paramedics. If it were me or my father, I would do the water and if it didn’t work, I’d call 911. We both have serious heart problems.
PS make sure you have the right size cuff on your blood pressure monitor and it is properly placed.

Consults a Doc immediately. Give your aunt water and some thing salty. This will help her.
