I was curious to know if anyone has experienced weight loss with hypertension medication and if so, what medication are you on?

Most antihypertensives have nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and/or abdominal pain as common or less common adverse effects and this may possibly result in a minimal weight loss. But meds such as captopril (Capoten), clonidine (Catapres & Catapres-TTS), hydralazine (apresoline), ramipril (Altace) all have anorexia as a possible adverse effect.

And minoxidil (Loniten) can cause weight gain.

I have hypertension for three years (maybye longer) I was put on medication because my pressure was constantly high >130/80, Eventually my pressure has drop on medication, however I have been taking coconut water and lime (especailly coconut water). You probally havent heard much about coconut water in the states, but the tropical fruit is great in controling hypertension.

If you losing weight on Medications see your doctor this could be serious.
