if a person did not have hypertension until becoming pregnant then chances are it is pregnancy induced.

the diffrence is that pregnancy induced hypertension will go away after the baby is born, if u have chronic hypertension u will most likely have it in the pregnancy too which means your doctors will monitor u extra careful

With pregnancy induced hypertension it is high blood pressure in a pregnant women that doesn’t normally have high blood pressure. Chronic hypertension would be a constant thing and it would not matter if the women was pregnant or not. When looking to see if a women has pregnancy induced hypertension they look for a rise of 20 points in both diabolic and systolic numbers. They also look for proteins in your urine and possible changes in vision. Hope this helps a little.
