My doc asked me for NO salt, NO Oil diet to reduce pregancy-inducted hypertension at 31 weeks. Wht to eat?
August 21st, 2008 | by Pressurized |I have gestational hypertension and am in 31 weeks of pregancy. My gynaec said NO salt at all…and i find the food very yuck without salt. I used a low sodium supplement but still she told me to avoid that too. How to eat food without salt when i crave for all good things? Any suggestions? Did any one of you followed this diet. I am taking alphadopa and mini asprin to reduce my BP.

Mrs. Dash makes seasonings you can use. It is only a few months, not the rest of your life, so go wihtout the salt.

You cant mess with he diet since it is your health and the bayb’s health at stakes.
You can use a variety of spices to add some taste to your food. (Garlic powder, white pepper…)
I know it’s hard, but it will be over in a few weeks
Good luck!

I’m on a reduced salt diet, and use Mrs. Dash as a substitute.
It’s not nearly the same, but it helps with flavor.
Sorry about the diagnosis. You only have about nine weeks left or so though.
Good luck.
